A Carbon-Aware Cloud Computing Framework: Measuring, Reducing, and Reporting Infrastructure Emissions

QueDCo Research Team

Abstract

Scope 3 carbon reporting now covers cloud infrastructure, and most companies don't have a good way to measure or reduce their cloud carbon footprint. We built a carbon-aware computing framework that pulls in real-time energy grid carbon data, models workload carbon output, and automates scheduling to cut emissions. In testing, it reduced carbon by 35% on average without hurting performance, using smart workload scheduling and region selection.
